The Chen Ultrasound Lab at Washington University School of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery, is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician II.Our lab integrates breakthroughs in neuroscience and ultrasonics to develop noninvasive ultrasound technologies that deepen our understanding of brain function and transform the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases. This role will support our innovative research by assisting in a range of technical tasks, including animal studies.
Assists with the technical aspects of studies and experiments, including documentation and preparation of materials.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

- Animal Studies: Assist with both small and large animal studies, including handling, training, animal procedures, and tissue harvesting.
- Laboratory Operations: Support laboratory functions, such as preparing reagents, maintaining animal-related equipment, performing data entry, and managing research data files.
- Lab Maintenance & Safety: Ensure compliance with established safety procedures, maintain detailed documentation of lab conditions, and ensure that the lab and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.
Working Conditions:
This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

$16.92 - $26.44 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
