We are seeking a Senior Operational Excellence (OpEx) Engineer to join our team in Danvers, MA, where you'll play a critical role in shaping efficient, scalable, and sustainable manufacturing processes that support our life-changing therapies.As a Senior OpEx Engineer, you will lead and support strategic initiatives aimed at improving plant performance—driving measurable outcomes in capacity planning, cost savings, and process optimization. You’ll serve as a change agent and coach, applying Lean, Six Sigma (preferably Black Belt), and data-driven tools to elevate productivity, efficiency, and quality across the site.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Lead and execute complex, cross-functional continuous improvement projects focused on cost reduction, cycle time, throughput, and space utilization
Conduct capacity modeling and planning to optimize resource allocation and support future growth
Improve facility layout and material flow using AutoCAD and Lean principles to enhance space efficiency and safety
Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to identify process bottlenecks and design scalable solutions
Mentor and coach cross-functional teams in Lean Six Sigma methodology, embedding a culture of continuous improvement
Use data analytics and advanced Excel tools to perform root cause analysis, develop KPIs, and track project impact
Support and champion inclusive team dynamics, ensuring all voices are heard and respected during improvement efforts
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Demonstrated success leading process improvement initiatives with measurable results
· Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma (Black Belt certification highly preferred)
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, modeling)
· Experience with AutoCAD or similar layout/space planning tools
· Proven ability to influence without authority and work across multiple departments
· Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (or equivalent experience)
· Master’s degree in a related field
· Experience in a regulated industry (medical device, pharma, aerospace, etc.)
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate change and drive alignment
· Experience in cost modeling or capital project justification
