Xylem/Evoqua Is Hiring – Thomasville, NC

Production Supervisor | Third Shift (7:30 PM – 6:00 AM) - Technical strong Production Supervisor to lead third-shift manufacturing operations producing large-scale wastewater treatment equipment in carbon and stainless steel.

This role is accountable for:

  • Executing production schedules while optimizing labor, equipment, and throughput

  • Driving Lean Manufacturing fundamentals (standard work, 5S, waste elimination, problem solving)

  • Managing WIP, inventory accuracy, and material flow to support on-time delivery

  • Enforcing quality systems, safety standards, and process discipline on the shop floor

  • Leading teams through data-driven decision making, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement

This is a hands-on leadership role for a supervisor who understands fabrication and assembly environments and can translate lean principles into measurable operational results—especially on off-shift operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement lean manufacturing initiatives to improve workflow and reduce waste.
  • Identify and execute process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability and minimize downtime.

Leadership & Operations

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of approximately 25 direct reports.
  • Manage daily operations to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Conduct shift meetings and communicate updates to management and team members.
  • Ensure equipment and facility maintenance to support continuous production.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company safety standards.

Quality Control

  • Maintain and enforce quality control measures.
  • Conduct inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.

Team Development

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
  • Resolve conflicts constructively and support team adaptability.

Administrative & Strategic

  • Manage departmental budget and control operational expenses.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and integrate best practices.
  • Support decision-making aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management and lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred:

  • Experience with SAP and Workday systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

The estimated salary range for this position is $72,300 – $85,000 plus bonus   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
