Adjunct Faculty in Philosophy

The Philosophy Department at Assumption College seeks to hire one or two part-time adjunct instructors for Fall 2025 to staff two sections of our introductory courses. These courses are capped at 22 students each. Class meetings run from Monday, August 25th to Friday, December 5th, with finals held through December 12th. Class meeting times are currently flexible. Adjuncts are welcomed as important contributors to the department and are provided with office space, email, voicemail, learning management system access (Brightspace), and other resources needed for quality teaching. Successful candidates may expect the opportunity to teach additional courses in subsequent semesters.

Requirements:

Applicants must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the College and show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption College.

Applicants should have a PhD in Philosophy or a related field. ABD graduate students with prior teaching experience will also be considered.
