This posting is for two (2) temporary positions of approximately 1 year.

Position Purpose

Manage, liaise with and grow a base of CO-OP employers by researching and developing CO-OP opportunities with various employers based on the specific needs of CO-OP students and their program of study.

Assess the quality of work terms to ensure relevant and enriching learning experiences are available to CO-OP students.

Act as a uOttawa Ambassador with community partners to promote the image of the University and promote community engagement and social accountability within the University community.

In this job, your responsibilities will include

Coordination of placements

  • Invite current and potential CO-OP employers to participate to our placement processes. and guide first-time-posts at every step of the recruitment process. Assess the quality and suitability of employer job postings with regards to students having a relevant learning experience.
  • Analyze and follow up on evaluations from the various placements and propose/implement ways to improve our programs. Throughout the process, act as a resource person to employers and to ensure retention and success.
     

Programs and Portfolio Management

  • Update and maintain the database with relevant and useful information to facilitate business continuity and collaboration.
  • Understand the needs of employers and help transform them into CO-OP contacts and keep current on course curriculums and develop a thorough knowledge of relevant academic disciplines.
  • Maintain excellent relations with relevant faculty and its members, such as professors and academic coordinators, alumni relation officers, development teams and marketing contacts in order to promote CO-OP to potential employer contacts.

Account Management

  • Maintain and grow an active portfolio of current employers by cross-selling other programs of study and providing prompt and efficient customer service by implementing communication strategies to keep employers engaged in the CO-OP process and active in their hiring of CO-OP students.
  • Plan, schedule and execute CO-OP student mid-term evaluations within the timeframe provided while gathering intel on trends within those accounts.

Business Development 

  • Guided by the Team Leads, work alongside Junior Business Developers and various students and team members to execute business development strategies, including market research, direct marketing and social media campaigns, to source potential employers and job opportunities suitable for the disciplines and industries.

Outreach, networking, and knowledge management

  • Keep current on industry and job market trends and updates Team Lead accordingly by being active and involved with associations relevant to sector and understands potential funding opportunities for employers.
