Columbus School for Girls (CSG) is an independent day school in Columbus, Ohio, founded in 1898, serving diverse students in grades pre-k through grade 12. Columbus School for Girls seeks to hire an energetic and creative full-time PS-8th General Music Teacher to begin in the 2024-2025 academic year. Major Functions and Responsibilities:
- Teach PS-8th grade general music classes, with the main focus on Pre-School-3rd grade.
- Assist with the Middle School Music Ensembles, including the possibility of teaching MS general music
- Duties for carline and lunch as assigned by the Division Director
- Collaborate regularly with the Arts Department and work in partnership with the music faculty to ensure a cohesive music curriculum.
- Participate actively in the life of the school, these might include leading clubs and/or activities, chaperoning school trips, and possibly coaching.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- Experience with Kodaly Method and Orff Instruments preferred
- Experience teaching children ages 3-14; Ability to teach a scope of different ages and grade levels preferred
- Experience in vocal and instrumental music; experience with dance and movement preferred
- Strong candidates will have at least three years of experience teaching.
