As the Director of Communications, you will lead and shape the strategic direction of OHA’s communications unit, ensuring that vital health information reaches Oregon’s diverse communities in an equitable and impactful way. You'll guide media relations, public information, and community outreach efforts, collaborating with internal and external partners to amplify OHA’s health initiatives and priorities. By overseeing communications strategies, content production, and the development of culturally responsive programs, you will play a key role in advancing the agency’s mission and health equity goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive communications plans, ensuring clear, inclusive, and effective messaging for Oregon’s communities. Coordinate with the Governor’s Office and OHA leadership on key health issues.
Write speeches, talking points, and strategic content to promote OHA’s health priorities and serve as the agency spokesperson on critical issues.
Supervise communications staff, manage budgets, ensure resource allocation, and lead professional development efforts.
