Vestas Procurement department is responsible for all procurement activities within Vestas, including leading cross functional category teams, negotiations and contract management, development of end-to-end cost out initiatives, category strategy development and supplier relationship management.

As part of the North and Central Europe (NCE) region, you will play a crucial role in shaping our offshore/onshore tower supply chain in the region, enabling us to deliver reliable, cost-efficient, and sustainable solutions to our customers. This position is part of the Towers & Steel Procurement team with members spread across all continents, is commercially responsible for Vestas global network of external tower manufacturing plants and the related procurement of all raw materials required for these.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to build and execute the Tower Manufacturing commodity strategy in NCE (Offshore/Onshore) with an end-to-end perspective of the value chain
- Actively support the Account Managers for Towers and Steel suppliers in NCE (RFQ, supplier development process, Market research, Data analytics, etc.)
- Identify and evaluate new sourcing opportunities for Towers & Steel in the NCE region
- Deliver required inputs into Vestas’ processes and key projects, e.g. raw-material exposure, new product introduction, new supplier introduction, alternative tower concepts, etc.
- Participate in contract and prices negotiations with suppliers in adherence to the corporate processes and standards, aiming at fulfilling all costs, delivery, quality, and sustainability targets to gain competitive advantages for Vestas
- Build and leverage supply market intelligence to inform and advice the team and management on important trends in the tower market, exploiting these for Vestas’ benefit
- Build a good network within Vestas, including close engagement in the NCE region and in the Tower module, enabling you to collaborate and partner with business leaders to drive results for Vestas. Ensure that an effective matrix organization can meet current and future business needs
Qualifications
- Holistic and curious mindset: you are able to see the big picture from Vestas product offerings towards customers and the ability to connect these to supplier offerings and how they can positively impact Vestas sales and cost out programs
- Robust strategic and business acumen with the ability to anticipate and deliver change
- Good negotiation skills - capable of gathering and evaluating analytical inputs and translate into a clear negotiation position and arguments
- Ability to communicate efficiently with internal and external stakeholders from all seniority levels
- Open approach to encourage stakeholder inputs, combined with structured and fact-based methods to secure value-adding ideas are prioritized and successfully implemented
- Process driven mindset and the capability to perform in a fast-paced environment
Competencies
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience with strategic procurement, combined with a degree in either Supply Chain Management, Sales/Marketing, Engineering, or alike
- Track record of commodity management and sourcing strategy development in an industrial and international environment. Experience in the tower or heavy structure industry is a plus
- Stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage with internal and external stakeholders on all levels of seniority
- Good written, verbal and listening skills, to communicate - negotiate - influence effectively, as well as to advise executive management level
- Advanced skills within PPT and Excel required
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written. Fluency in German is welcomed
- Experience working across different cultures and regions
