What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will act in conjunction with the Oncology Therapeutic Area head to advance the development and execution of Precision Medicine objectives. Lead multiple cross-functional teams to develop and execute translational and precision medicine strategies to support above-asset development across the pipeline. Additionally, partner with cross functional Therapeutic Area leads across Research & Development to guide the development of translational, reverse translational, and precision medicine strategies.
- Serve as thought partner and influencer to the Precision Medicine TA Head for the development and execution of strategies for translation, reverse translation, and precision medicine to deepen mechanistic insights, define indications/combinations based on understanding of disease & patient endotypes, enhance success, and overall value of the portfolio within the therapeutic area.
- Serve as the strategic integrator of various stakeholder inputs and multiple lines of evidence for the development of translational medicine and precision medicine strategies across multiple assets in the oncology pipeline with shared objectives, such as assets within an indication franchise, or multiple assets within a modality.
- Set strategic vision to enhance the value of the oncology pipeline through clinical biomarker target identification, indication selection, early indication of biological activity and patient stratification/selection including reverse translation strategies capable of informing across-asset learnings.
- Mentor and guide precision medicine scientists and junior precision medicine leads within the therapeutic area on phase appropriate exploration of precision medicine considerations to inform asset development strategic options.
- Lead multiple cross-functional teams in the development and execution of phase appropriate, integrated, biomarker and human data plans, to support translational pharmacology and inform patient selection strategies.
- Serve as the key liaison between research and development by providing clinical translational considerations (proof of target engagement, dose selection, patient selection) to inform discovery asset development as well as enabling reverse translational strategies (to gain mechanistic insights related to patient stratification, response/resistance) for assets in clinical phase.
- Provide precision medicine considerations to shape disease area strategies (disease endotypes, indications, and combinatorial approaches). Provide subject matter expertise to inform registrational and access and use evidence generation plans.
- In partnership with the Precision Medicine Therapeutic Area Head, help to identify and implement emerging technologies including AI into translational and biomarker development.
