S Mechanical is currently seeking an Entry level candidate to join our MEP Draft / Design team!  The ideal candidate will have a recent Bachelor's degree in the Mechanical Engineering or Construction Field!  We are willing to train the right candidate and mentor them to be successful in their career and within our organization!

Position: Mechanical Drafter / Designer

Type: Full time permanent position.

Location: Oak Forest, IL

Pay: up to $60K Salary per year DOE + Amazing benefits package!

Job Description:

• Perform HVAC system load calculations to size air and waterside equipment
• Design duct and pipe system layouts based on industry and S Mechanical standards.
• Verify system designs meet the requirements of local mechanical and energy codes.
• Work with sales and project management teams to select and purchase HVAC equipment that complies with design standards and codes.
• Create construction models and drawings using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings with other trades using Autodesk Navisworks
• Create construction shop drawings from design team contract documents to ensure constructability.
• Coordinate with construction field personnel to develop and document optimal layouts for installation.
• Collaborate with engineering team to develop specifications and designs using engineering principles, along with S Mechanical standards and practices
• Assist the estimating department with estimates and proposals, as required

Requirements: 

• Entry Level 0-1 years previous Mechanical Engineering experience or recent college grad in the same field. 
• Must have a valid Drivers license.
• Must be able to pass background and drug screen.
• Must have a willingness to learn and the ability to be coachable.
• Ability to commute to the Oak Forest area daily.

Experience:

• MEP Auto cad / Revit: (Preferred)
• Mechanical Engineering Degree: (Preferred)
