• Location:  University of Miami Hospital, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute - Miami, FL

• Schedule:  Full time with the option for 1 to 2 days remote work per week
• Requirement:  Must be registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration

University of Miami Hospital is a 500-bed academic-based acute care facility located in the heart of the Miami Health District; neighboring Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Miami VA Hospital.  It includes approximately 30 clinics, in which physicians and other providers from the Miller School of Medicine practice out of.  Although the hospital provides all service-lines, their primary specialties are in the Neuro-, Gastrointestinal, and Hematology/Oncology service lines.
 
Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center opened in 1992 to provide comprehensive cancer services to the South Florida Community.  Together with the  40-bed inpatient hospital, University of Miami Hospital and Clinics - Sylvester or UMHC Sylvester services as the diagnosis, treatment, and research hub for the UM health system.
 
Bascom Palmer Eye Institute serves as the Department of Ophthalmology for the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida.  Their mission is to enhance the quality of life by improving sight, preventing blindness, and advancing ophthalmic knowledge through compassionate patient care and innovative research; with 60 ambulatory beds and 10 inpatient beds.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

 

Oversee and manage a diverse range of responsibilities within Patient and Food Services, accounting for 60% of the role's focus, including:

• Implement and enforce policies and procedures related to patient services, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
• Lead menu development initiatives, catering to various dietary needs and preferences while adhering to nutritional guidelines.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for the integration of MyDining and other systems, enhancing operational efficiency and service delivery.
• Spearhead projects aimed at optimizing patient and food service operations, leveraging innovative solutions to enhance overall patient experience.
• Provide operational guidance and support to ensure seamless day-to-day functioning of patient and food service departments.
