About You and This Role - What you will do in this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Services and Security (ES&S) Technician in Hahnville, LA!  The purpose of this job is to provide emergency response and security services to the Hahnville site. 

Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role

  • The protection of company assets by responding to fires, spills, hazardous materials incidents, medical emergencies, confined space and elevated rescues, and security incidents.
  • Preparation of key emergency response equipment and systems, communication internally and externally including the activation of community notification systems; Provide effective security services for the site. 
  • Investigating and documenting emergencies and security incidents.
  • Ability to think clearly and calmly under stress.
  • Able to analyze, troubleshoot, and solve problems within the Emergency Services and Security (ES&S) area of responsibility. 
  • Be proficient in computers to perform job tasks.
  • Able to communicate with a diverse population spread across the site, while effectively interacting with multiple functions and diverse individuals to achieve goals.
  • Have strong Interpersonal, Facilitative, and Organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize appropriately.

Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)

  • A minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have or be willing to earn EMT-Basic or EMR certifications. 
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in industrial emergency response and/or medical services. 
  • Proficient in computers and able to review/modify documents and policies/procedures.

  • Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift position. 
  • Able to work overtime as needed.
