The New School was founded by forward-thinking educators in 1919 to defy the intellectual constraints of a traditional college education. We are seeking knowledgeable and enthusiastic Senior Illustration students to join our team as Senior Publication Student Workers. In this role, students need to have excellent skills with InDesign and Photoshop and be comfortable working with Google Spreadsheets. The role involves design and layout, file checking, and communicating with Professor Aaron Fernanez and other students about corrections. There will be one or two short meetings, but most of the work can happen flexibly.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the Senior Publication Coordinator, Aaron Fernandez, with the design and layout of the publication
Assist with image file checks
Assist with proofreading captions, credits, and student information in the index
Communicate with seniors regarding any missing information or files
Assist in the planning and setup of the book launch
Work on promotional materials for the book launch (posters, flyers, social media, etc.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a senior in the Illustration program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with InDesign and Photoshop.
WORK MODE
On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely.
Hourly Rate:
$21.00/hr
Hours: 20 hrs/semester
