Together, these businesses provide industry-leading ways to serve customers around the world. </p><h3>Job Description</h3><p><strong>Purpose of the Role</strong></p><ul><li>Execute VAT compliance program and controls for assigned entities to provide assurance that indirect tax is accurately accounted for and reported in relation to business activities and SAP programming;</li><li>Support local finance and key stakeholders with queries having VAT implications.</li></ul><p><strong>We all have a critical role to play and add value. Here is how this role will help:</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure end-to-end VAT compliance with full ownership, including preparation / review of VAT returns and other VAT related reports for European countries</li><li>Reconciliation of indirect tax balance sheet accounts - open item management - advise posting corrections</li><li>Support VAT process standardization projects and implementing new digital tax solutions</li><li>Drive continuous improvement, challenge status quo</li><li>Participate in month-end closing procedure</li><li>Support the local businesses and other finance departments in VAT related matters</li><li>Interact with external service providers</li><li>Advise on VAT treatment</li><li>Follow-up and implement legal changes</li><li>Ensure internal and external control processes</li><li>Actively participate in internal/external VAT audits</li><li>Meet all reporting deadlines</li><li>Ad-hoc and complex issue resolution</li><li>Provide back-up for other team members</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p>At Syngenta we are highly people focused – we look for professionals who are engaged, collaborative and excellent in execution.
