Non-Tenure: Visiting Lecturer

Description

The Department of Hospitality, Hotel Management and Tourism , College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University, welcomes applications for one part-time, non-tenure track position with a 4.5 month academic appointment beginning January 2, 2025. The academic appointment will be for the Spring 2025 semester with the possibility of renewal. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Visiting Lecturer, depending on qualifications.

This position is expected to teach HMGT 302, Application of Tourism Principles in Spring of 2025. The allocation of effort at appointment will be 22.23% teaching. 

The expectations are broadly described as:

·       Supervising, grading, submitting grades and grade changes.

·       Select and lead learning activities that facilitate the students’ achievement of course objectives.

·       Assess individual student learning needs.

·       Serve as a role model for professionalism and team collaboration.

·       Provide constructive feedback on student performance.

·       Evaluate students' performance.

·       Collaborate with associate department heads for advice in problem-solving.

Qualifications

Required Education: 

Master of Business Administration or equivalent terminal degree in a business or hospitality field. Candidates must have previous teaching experience at Texas A&M University.

Required Experience: 

Successful candidates will possess a decade or more of experience in the hospitality and/tourism industry.
