Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Data Acquisition Specialist for the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing - Boca Raton, FL.

The Data Acquisition Specialist is responsible for extracting and transforming data from diverse sources, data repositories, and laboratory data proficiency. As a DAS, you will leverage data science tools and SQL expertise to develop robust data pipelines, drive data integration, and provide valuable insights that empower our organization's decision-making processes. The candidate will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on issues related to data.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain data extraction pipelines from eMR, eHR, DICOM, FHIR, data repositories, and laboratory data and Monitor data pipelines to optimize performance to ensure data availability and responsiveness.

• Use Python, Power BI, Tableau, image-to-text converter (e.g.,OCR), and SQL scripting to extract and transform data, ensuring its accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

• Integrate data from various sources into a unified and accessible data repository.

• Design additions to databases (DB) such as MS SQL to support and integrate new features and capabilities.

• Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data integrity.

• Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to design data models that support analytical needs.

• Utilize Power BI to create interactive and insightful data visualizations and reports.

• Develop automated solutions for routine data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.

• Implement best practices to optimize data processing and improve efficiency. Identify and address bottlenecks or performance issues in data processing.

• Document data extraction, transformation, and integration processes for reference and knowledge sharing. Maintain up-to-date documentation of data sources, pipelines, and transformations.

• Experience in orchestrating pipelines with technology like Airflow/Luigi/Oozie/Nifi.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, IT administrators, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
