About the role

General Purpose:  To be responsible for working with the Distribution Department, Sales Department and internal/external customers to ensure integrity and reliability of General Ledger balances and other accounting and financial reporting information

 

Positions Responsibilities:  

  • Utilizes computerized accounting software programs (MS; Excel, Word, AS400 and PCS (warehouse management system) to perform duties and responsibilities
  • Processes customer orders; EDI, Fax and Email 
  • Confirms orders, issue credits and invoices to ensure accurate finished goods inventory balance
  • Close daily sales, run sales and inventory reports
  • Communicates with Distribution Department, Sales Department and the customer on out of stocks, order changes and delayed deliveries
  • Coordinates with Distribution on logistics to finalize delivery dates
  • Interacts with customers and relay customer concerns to Sales department
  • Maintain customer management and account maintenance in AS400 and PCS 
  • Works with Corporate EDI Department to set up new EDI customers 
  • Maintains item set up, customer price decks and promotional allowances
  • Input current prices for customers on a formula price program on a monthly basis
  • Closes monthly sales and account receivables 
  • Reconcile monthly inventory with the Distribution Department 
  • Captures EOM reports to be shared on the share drive 
  • Distribute various sales reports (approximately 100 customers) and EOM reports to the Sales Department and Corporate Office
  • Organizes and maintains retention files for required period of time

 

 

Essential Skills and experience:

High School Diploma with some college accounting courses preferred
3+ years’ experience in customer service with computer applications experience preferred
Maintain working knowledge of Excel and other applications as needed for data entry
Skilled in performing work requiring attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively by phone and email
Knowledge of basic accounting processes and procedures
Excellent organizational skills, strong work ethic and detail oriented
Ability to multi-task & coordinate multiple projects
Deadline conscious with strong drive, initiative and the ability to work well in time-sensitive situations
Possess high degree of professionalism, adaptability and customer service skills
Ability to work with others and communicate with multiple departments and all levels of management
 Strong AS400 Knowledge (Not required but prefer)

 

Nonessential Skills:

It is important to be a strong self-motivator and self-starter   

 

Work Environment:

Open Cubicle Office Space.  Small office staff is engaged to support many active continuous improvement projects within the facility

 

Physical Demands:

Office environment some time spent on Production Floor or Facility Training Center, Ability to work weekends to meet reporting or project deadlines

General Sign-off:  The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies and procedures.
