Sr. Contracts Negotiator

Location: This position will be based in Seattle, Denver, Mountain View, San Francisco, or NYC.  This will be a hybrid role with in-office expectations. 

About the Role:

Databricks is seeking a Senior Contracts Negotiator to support our growing Enterprise (ENT) commercial business. Reporting to the Director, Assistant General Counsel, you will negotiate Master Cloud Services Agreements (MCSA), Data Privacy Agreements, NDAs, SOWs, and other contracts relevant to our business (e.g. AI Terms and Order Forms). 

You have 5+ years of relevant commercial legal transactional experience with a focus on complex technology transactions. You have meaningful experience negotiating SaaS commercial transactions and strong knowledge/experience counseling on legal issues related to data privacy, information security, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property, including open source software.

What You Will  Do

• Negotiate, draft, and close MCSA with ENT customers, ensuring compliance with company policies, data privacy, information security, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide commercial and contracting support to assigned Attorneys (as needed) on complex deals and strategic negotiations. 
• Partner with cross-functional teams (sales, finance, product, compliance) to drive revenue-generating transactions while mitigating risks.
• Streamline contracting processes, workflows and assist in improving templates, legal playbooks focused on continuing to scale our business.
• Advise on legal, commercial and operating risks, by becoming a subject matter expert on the customer commercial transactions across the ENT verticals you support. 
• Support the company's OKRs, strategic initiatives, including contract management improvements, and special projects across the legal team.

Who you Are

• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of contract negotiation experience with relevant commercial transactional experience working for and/or supporting cloud-based software companies.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Process-oriented mindset with experience in improving contracting workflows.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with internal teams, internal clients, and Databricks prospects/customers.

Zone 1 Pay Range$109,500—$153,300 USD
