What does a successful Sr. Front-End Engineer do at Fiserv?

Are you an experienced and innovative Senior Front-End Engineer with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences? At Fiserv, we are dedicated to delivering top-notch software solutions to our clients. Join our dynamic team and work with the latest technologies, including TypeScript, React, SSR, Backend-for-Frontend, and micro frontends. Your expertise and leadership will drive the development of our front-end applications and help shape the future of our products.

What you will do:

• Build high-quality, user-friendly front-end applications using React and TypeScript, bringing designs to life.
• Implement state management solutions like Redux or Zustand to keep applications efficient and responsive.
• As a senior individual contributor, you'll be the one to architect, design, and develop our front-end applications, primarily using JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
• Collaborate closely with back-end teams to seamlessly integrate front-end applications with APIs.
• Translate designs from tools like Figma into engaging and accessible user interfaces.
• Ensure applications are optimized for performance and comply with accessibility standards, including WCAG AA.
• Share your expertise by mentoring junior engineers and conducting thorough code reviews.
• Stay ahead of the curve by exploring and adopting the latest trends in front-end technologies.

What you will need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development.
• Expertise in React and TypeScript for building scalable, responsive user interfaces.
• Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS (SASS/LESS), and web build systems like Webpack or Gulp.
• Experience with REST and GraphQL for API development.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve complex application issues.
• Knowledge of cloud environments (Google Cloud Provider), web testing and automation tools (Cypress, Selenium, Jest), and version control (Git).
• Experience with Agile methodologies and modern architecture styles such as Micro frontends.

What would be great to have:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment frameworks. 
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker. 
• Experience with visual testing tools like Applitools, SauceLabs, or Percy. 
• Familiarity with API design principles. 
• Solid understanding of state management libraries such as Redux, Recoil, Zustand, or similar. 
• Experience building apps with SSR and Backend-for-Frontend patterns.

How you’ll work: 

• This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

Salary Range

$140,000.00 - $210,000.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in Sunnyvale, California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.

For incentive eligible associates, the successful candidate is eligible for an annual incentive opportunity which may be delivered as a mix of cash bonus and equity awards in the Company’s sole discretion.
