Director of Finance Technology – Greensboro, NC
DUTIES:
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for finance and tax technology aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of finance and tax technology systems, with a focus on SAP S/4HANA modules such as AR, AP, GL, Universal Journal, Fixed Assets, Forecast and Planning. Ensure seamless integration of finance modules with other functional areas, such as MM, PP, OTC, to enable end-to-end financial processes. Collaborate with IT teams and external vendors to manage system configurations, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Lead a team of SME's, Consultants and Business Engagement Leads across Finance and Tax that are accountable for effective execution and delivery of business benefit
- Design framework to create an IT roadmap and establish parameters for the evolution and implementation of new technologies in the SAP S4 Finance and Vertex space
- Design and build all the solutions in Vertex software for meeting business tax requirements
- Specify new processes or set new standards for technologies such as machine learning, RPA, AI and other Finance & Tax needs or technologies
- Partner with Finance and Tax team to develop guidelines and handbooks on processes/standards and manage the roll-out and implementation across all functions and business units.
- Proactively solicit new needs, requirements and communicate progress towards the business goals for Finance & Tax.
- Communicate and coordinate all necessary project and program information that supports on time activation for all assigned projects
- Ensure that new and existing Finance & Tax business needs are represented across all the projects in the portfolio with solid details and documentation
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with finance and tax partners, including SAP and Vertex and internal global business technology partners such as integrated service delivery, project management, security and architecture
- Collaborate with finance, IT and cross functional teams to drive process improvements, enhance data analytics capabilities and support business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage SAP S/4 HANA; Vertex and other relevant technologies to streamline financial and tax processes, improve forecasting and planning, and enhance data driven decision making.
- Apply SAP S4 product costing expertise in manufacturing product costing principles, methodologies, and systems to optimize product cost calculations, analysis, and reporting within the finance technology landscape. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to align product cost calculations with actual costs, support cost optimization initiatives, and improve profitability analysis.
- Implement Vertex solutions to ensure accurate tax calculations, reporting, and compliance within the finance systems. Stay up-to-date with tax regulations, rates, and rules, and ensure their integration with SAP S/4HANA for tax determination and reporting.
- Establish and maintain robust governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) access controls within the finance technology systems. Implement and enforce proper access controls, segregation of duties, and security measures to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Implement tools such as Analysis for Office (AFO) and Power BI to enhance financial reporting capabilities, provide actionable insights, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with finance and IT teams to develop standardized financial reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Other duties as assigned within area of responsibility.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in information systems, computer science, electrical engineering or related technical field followed by 8 years of progressively responsible experience with SAP FICO configuration and full life cycle implementation.
Other required experience:
Qualified candidate must also possess:
- 8 years of experience in finance technology management, which includes experience with SAP S/4HANA, AR, AP, GL, Universal Journal, Fixed Assets, Forecast and Planning, Vertex, GRC access controls, and integrations with MM, PP, and OTC.
