Hamilton Company is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join the Robotics Applications team in collaboration with the Reno-based R&D team in building state-of-the-art software for our precise liquid handling robots. The position entails supporting the team in writing automated testing for development of software and becoming an expert in the use of product software and open-source solutions. Other responsibilities include:
- Full stack development of new features/tools including design, documentation, implementation, and testing.
- Analysis and resolution of software defects.
- Effective communication with other departments and engineering disciplines.
- Translation of legacy automation solutions to Python enabled open-source platforms. Design and implement new Python-based solutions to demonstrate advanced functionality and integrations to the internal teams.
*Role requires travel to Reno, NV to work with the R&D team.
Qualifications
- Python programming experience required
- C# and .NET programming experience preferred
- Proficient in software development principles and programming best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Education/Experience
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate level program
- Majoring or degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred.
