Under limited supervision of the Prin. Admin. Analyst of Academic Trainee Office in the Office of Education, Semel Institute/Department of Psychiatry & Biobehavioral sciences, incumbent independently manages all aspects of the following:
A. Manages the day-to-day administrative aspects of the Psychiatry Clerkship. Works in collaboration with the Clerkship Chair to maintain accreditation standards and act as a liaison between medical students, faculty, trainees, and the Dean’s Office at DGSOM. Oversee the implementation of the clerkship curriculum across seven hospital sites (Reagan, Harbor, WLA VA, Kedren, OVH, OVH-UCC, and Kern).
B. Manages seven 4th year medical student electives at UCLA Resnick, includes visiting students, and the Visiting Elective Scholarship Program
C. Manages departmental courses in consultation with faculty. Serves as liaison for UCLA undergraduate students as well as departmental representative in the Office of Instructional Development Evaluation of Instruction Program (OIDEIP)
D. Organizes and oversees 4-week Rieger Clinical Immersion Summer Fellowship Program for 2-3 rising second-year medical students

- Ability to work independently on projects and various tasks with limited direction/supervision
- Analysis of existing organizational structure, policies, and procedures
- Plan, develop, manage, and implement major portions of a departmental program/activity
- Perform advanced operational professional assignments
- Develop new approaches or methods for performing a broad range of duties to meet specified goals
- Serve as recognized special resources within the program/campus
- Developing and maintain broad range of working relationships with students, staff personnel, academic personnel, officials of external agencies and the general public
- Interpret, explain, and implement University policies and procedures relevant to campus student programs and activities
- Ability to analyze the problem, gather data and information, find and evaluate alternate solutions, and make a final recommendation
