Medical Assistant - Univ Pulmonary & Critical Care

University Pulmonary and Critical Care is currently looking for team oriented full-time Medical Assistant (MA) for our specialty practice. This candidate will be part of a dynamic team to support our specialty practice in Knoxville, TN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include any and or all the following:

• Prepares the chart for the provider 
• Prepares patient for their visit by escorting them to the exam room and recording patient data, including but not limited to vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Assists providers with exams and procedures as requested.
• Keeps rooms clean and stocked with supplies.
• Assists the front office staff by making patient appointments, when needed.
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing, standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
• Handling patient phone calls that come in for the providers
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Strong communication skills, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, time management, and organization are critical to the overall success of the candidate.
• Medical Assistant Certification
• Prior medical experience is required
