Finance and Accounting Internship

Summary

Buckle’s Finance Internship is designed to engage students in a team environment through access to hands-on finance projects, networking, and development opportunities. The Finance intern will contribute to the business while gaining valuable hands-on experience working within a dynamic corporate Finance Team. This internship will foster development and experience across a wide range of departments.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting

• Assist with monthly reconciliations of store bank statements.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
• Compose and distribute monthly financial reports for various business units.
• Facilitate in the completion of internal control testing procedures.
• Assist with monthly sales tax filings.
• Work on special projects as needed.

 

Internal Audit

• Support the preparation of audit programs and risk assessments.
• Participate in the planning and execution of internal audit projects.
• Perform audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing, and analyzing evidence, and documenting processes and procedures.
• Assist in conducting financial, operational, and compliance audits.
• Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
• Assist in developing recommendations for enhancing internal controls and operational efficiencies.
• Prepare clear and concise audit documentation and reports.
• Assist in communicating audit findings and recommendations to management.

 

All Finance Interns

• Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Education and/or Experience

Candidate must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Accounting and/or Finance.

The Teammate must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Teammate regularly works in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
