Come join Bucknell University’s Facilities team as an Electronics Tech Assistant, Tech I or Tech II and play a key role in maintaining and managing critical electronic systems across our campus!
As a Tech Assistant, you'll be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining essential systems such as fire alarms, card access, and security systems. You'll also maintain mobile two-way radios, sound systems for sporting venues, scoreboards, and clock systems. In addition, you'll assist with testing sprinkler, kitchen hood, and halon systems to ensure safety across campus.
As a Tech I, you'll take on all the responsibilities of a Tech Assistant with the added responsibility of managing the mobile two-way radios, sound systems for sporting venues, scoreboards, and clock systems and managing/maintaining spare parts inventory.
As a Tech II, you'll take on all the responsibilities of a Tech I with added leadership in system improvements. In this role, you’ll also perform semi-annual testing of safety systems and manage projects to enhance life safety and card access systems, including design and installation.

What You'll Do:
Tech Assistant:
Life Safety Systems Maintenance & Support |50%| Maintain campus’ card access and addressable life safety systems. Includes installation, troubleshooting, repairing and replacing of microprocessor based control panels and field devices. Also includes monitoring nodal fire alarm systems and assisting in testing of sprinkler control, kitchen hood and halon systems.
Electronic System Maintenance, Troubleshooting |25%| Troubleshoot, maintain, inspect, and repair electronic systems of all types including but not limited to mobile two-way radio systems and sporting venue sound systems and scoreboards, clocks and power tools. Notify supervisor or Utility Tech I of parts needed to ensure repairs are made in a timely manner.
Work Orders & Preventative Maintenance |15%| Utilize Facilities CMMS system to create work orders and update equipment. Assist Supervisor in establishing predictive/preventive maintenance procedures for electrical equipment. Communicate effectively with Public Safety, peers and administration status of fire system repairs and outages.
Event Support |10%| Provide technical and maintenance support for events (i.e. sporting events, student social events, University events, etc.) Provide technical support and training regarding electronic systems to peers. Support and promote Bucknell's sustainability and energy conservation efforts.
Tech I:
