No matter what project the customer is working on – be it infrastructure modernization or application modernization – security is and will always be “Top of Mind” for our customers. We finished the year strong and have much yet to do. To meet this demand, the Application Network and Security Business is hiring!

This position represents an opportunity to join our vibrant company and become part of VMware’s Pre-Sales Engineering / Solutions Architectures team covering Americas Strategic Accounts with focus on Telco Accounts.

In this role, you own the strategy and execution of Security across your target accounts. While the focus is security, this role allows you to engage in infrastructure modernization conversations as well as application modernization conversations and ensure that what is being built is built with security in mind.  

What sparked the interest of customers in our portfolio was simple way to create infrastructure with VCF and a simple way to secure it without the need to do bolt on security as you see with traditional security vendors! With VMware vDefend Security, we have security that’s embedded in the hypervisor itself . You can use the same security platform to secure VMs, Containers and Baremetal.
 
The future Security focused team member will spend time on a variety of strategic telco accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Map Customer’s Security Business Initiatives to Application Networking and Security Solutions and Strategy

• Present to customers and establish relationships with Customer Executives.

• Work with Application Network and Security BU GM's and VP to establish executive relationships.

• Provide expert technical support for opportunities involving our security portfolio.

• Lead Proof of Concept exercises for Advanced Threat and Firewall products in customer labs to validate solutions

• Maintain deep technical knowledge of Cloud solutions, industry directions and trends.

• Maintain working knowledge of peer and competitor products

• Work collaboratively with Product Management, Technical Marketing and Engineering during the development, launch and continuing refinement of Application Networking and security products

• Lead the technical pre-sales community discussions and facilitate knowledge dissemination to the VMware and Partner Subject Matter Experts with regards to VMware products in conjunction with Cloud solutions and architectures

• Document best practices & architectural references in developing and deploying our Security portfolio

Requirements:

• Be comfortable with change and view change as an opportunity to thrive

• Have experience with IT automation, operations and orchestration tools.

• Have Experience supporting large customers and/or teams practicing agile and continuous delivery is preferred.

• Knowledge of security and other security vendors

• Must have working knowledge of VMware portfolio

• 12+ years of experience in technology related areas including: enterprise systems management and infrastructure (datacenter) architecture experience with significant depth around designing, implementing, and managing critical business infrastructure.

• Willingness to travel, as needed, though not likely to exceed 50%

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, related field or equivalent experience

The On Target Earnings (OTE) range for this position is $148,000  - $236,000  

OTE includes Sales Incentive Commission in accordance with relevant plan documents. This position is also eligible for equity in accordance with equity
