Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Accounting Coordinator– Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities include:
- Maintain the general ledger, and monthly journal entries generated within the Controller's Office and from various departments within the organization.
- Participate in the month-end close as well as the year-end close process by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and performing necessary reviews and analyses.
- Provides assistance with the FAU and FAU Finance Corporation audits and the preparation of the consolidated financial statements. Preparation of monthly analysis surrounding relevant accounts.
- Participate in the Workday biannual testing process related to the new releases.
- Exercises proficiency in GASB and GAAP Accounting Standards.
- Represents the department and the University in appropriate departmental, SUS, or State Committees.
- Serve as liaison with other departments across the University, including but not limited to Budget Office, Procurement Services, and Facilities Management.
- Communicates with the University community to ensure their accounting request and needs are met through the ticketing system as well as through emails and phone.
- Perform other ad hoc duties and assignments as needed.
- Perform assigned duties with a high degree of independence, initiative and judgement.
