About the role
Summary:As a Finance Associate for Goodwater Capital, the role will work with Goodwater’s Finance Managers and Head of Finance to help maintain the firm’s accounting and back office function. A successful candidate will maintain an entrepreneurial mindset; demonstrate scrappiness and “know-how” to execute and a roll-up-the-sleeves mentality while delivering exceptional quality and operational excellence in support of Goodwater’s mission.

Financial Management:* Assist with fund accounting and reporting * Assist in the oversight of the 3rd party administrator relationship* Review investments funding and other day-to-day operations including cash monitoring and capital calls * Review quarterly and yearly financial and tax reporting* Monitor and track LP communications requests/status* Maintain the books and records in Allvue Accounting System to shadow the fund administrator for 18+ funds and 11+ GP entities* Assist the Finance Manager’s with quarterly valuations and other internal/external reporting needs* Track and organize all deal documents, cap tables, and transaction structures* Assist with Accounts Payable and Management Company day to day tasks* Assist with quarterly budget preparation * Review, analyze, and maintain financial and KPI performance data for Goodwater's portfolio companies and potential new investment targets* Collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups within Goodwater to leverage structured financial and KPI performance data in new products and processes

Requirements:
- VC fund operations and industry best practices
- VC sector terminology and structures for portfolio companies and fund management
- Portfolio investments valuation (a plus but not a requirement)
- 2+ years of public or private accounting experience in the alternative investment industry
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
