About the Role

Kaseya is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our R&D team building and maintaining our Backup product. This role goes beyond typical web development: our team develops PHP-based applications (including Symfony framework) and manages infrastructure in public cloud environments and Ubuntu Linux systems.

You’ll work on high-performance backup systems that require reliability and scalability. In addition to web services, our application includes PHP CLI tools running on Ubuntu.

We're Looking for Someone With:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• 5+ years of experience in backend development with PHP (including Symfony and CLI applications)
• Proven proficiency in API design and development (RESTful services, Swagger/OpenAPI, microservices architecture)
• Strong understanding of Linux/Ubuntu environments
• Hands-on experience with any major public cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Ability to write modular, reusable unit and integration tests, maintaining high code coverage
• Strong understanding of SQL databases (MySQL or similar)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI/CD
• Knowledge of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms in real-world use
• English at B2 level for daily communication and documentation

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with ZFS filesystem and storage concepts
• Experience with Terraform and Helm for infrastructure provisioning and Kubernetes management
• Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
• Experience with backup systems or storage technologies

• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and performant services and CLI tools
• Manage infrastructure in public cloud environments and Ubuntu-based systems
• Resolve reported defects efficiently while delivering features that delight users
• Drive and uphold best practices in code quality, security, performance, and maintainability
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and mentoring within the engineering team
