About the Position:


The Director of Strategic Planning will serve as a key advisor and strategic partner to the executive team, providing critical support in managing the organization's operations, initiatives, and direction. This role requires a strong background in project management and strategic planning, as well as a solid foundation in business administration, typically demonstrated through an MBA degree. The Director of Strategic Planning will play a pivotal role in driving key projects forward, streamlining processes, and facilitating communication and collaboration across departments.

This position reports to the President, Land Vehicles Americas and can be located in Rosemont, IL, Elkhart, IN, or Troy MI.


General responsibilities:


Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Project Management: Lead and oversee cross-functional projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budget constraints. Utilize project management best practices and methodologies to drive successful project outcomes.


Executive Support: Serve as a trusted advisor to the President and other senior leaders, offering strategic guidance and support on critical business decisions. Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for executive meetings and engagements.


Operational Oversight: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to assess organizational performance and identify areas for improvement. Implement processes and systems to optimize workflow and resource allocation.


Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.  Act as a liaison between different departments to facilitate communication and collaboration. Exhibit influence without authority, political skills.


Risk Management: Identify potential risks and opportunities that may impact the organization's performance or reputation. Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address potential challenges proactively.


M&A activity: Experience in driving due diligence work and integrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in project management and/or strategic planning and executive support
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent credential.
  • Proven experience in managing portfolio of multiple projects at the same time 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
  • PowerPoint and presentation skills a must
  • Ability to travel at least 25%
