What you’ll do: 

As the Sr. Fleet Compliance Specialist, you will support Torc’s safety program through ongoing fleet compliance management to include all related regulatory requirements associated with fleet operations. Supports best practices and most efficient methods to achieve DOT and FMSCR compliance. Supports the Fleet Compliance Manager related to inspections, audits, investigations, compliance and regulatory management activities. 

  • Provides support to ensure all state and federal motor vehicle regulatory requirements are met according to establish guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Provides support to ensure all Torc internal requirements for safety operator and safety conductor compliance are met.
  • Provides support for compiling, recording, and maintaining required data and documents from various resources and ensures DOT compliance.
  • Seeks and researches the best practices and most efficient methods to achieve DOT and FMSCR.
  • Provides support in assembling, organizing, formatting, proofreading, and submitting all regulatory documentation.
  • Assists with inspections, audits, accident and incident investigations.
  • Assists with continuous improvement of safety metrics, methods, documentation, and evaluation processes related to compliance and regulatory matters.
  • Assist in special projects and tasks as directed by the Fleet Compliance Manager.

What you’ll need to succeed: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field of study or 2 years college experience and equivalent professional experience.
  • 4+ years’ experience in automotive and surface transportation safety
  • Direct experience working with regulators and policy makers (USDOT agencies)
  • Deep knowledge of the US safety environment and processes
  • Demonstrated experience developing positive relationships with state and federal agencies
  • Demonstrated experience in incident and vehicle accident investigations
  • Experienced at data collection, data analysis, and experimental test design
  • Technical background in vehicle engineering and regulation
  • Ability to ethically handle sensitive and confidential information with impartiality and
  • Position requires transportation to locations outside the main complex. Valid US Driver’s
  • license with a safe driving record required. May travel occasionally to other states.
