Purpose of Role
The Lead, Sports Marketing role exists to service Under Armour’s partnership with its premier collegiate property, the University of Notre Dame. They will serve as the main point of contact and liaison between university administration, coaches, equipment managers, team staff, medical and training personnel and others within Notre Dame as it pertains to all outfitting and wear testing situations. They will work cross functionally with Under Armour’s product organization including product line managers, licensing managers, merchants, etc. to curate the appropriate product for athlete essentials. Overall, this role should successfully make sure that brand heat and storytelling live on campus through pinnacle product and ladder back up to support overall brand strategy and partnership awareness.
This is a key strategic role, and the individual will be responsible for managing high-profile sports marketing partnerships, relationships and initiatives while delivering long-term growth strategies for the brand.
Your Impact
- Provide excellent customer service
- Represent Under Armour brand and serve as main point of contact between Under Armour and Notre Dame as it pertains to outfitting and wear testing
- Effectively communicate to Notre Dame regarding Under Armour brand strategy, marketing plans, product lifecycle and innovation, etc.
- Continuously create, enhance and grow external relationships in order to find opportunities and synergies to grow Under Armour’s business
- Oversee on behalf of Under Armour all team product needs, including but not limited to: uniforms, training and travel gear, sportswear, footwear, accessories, hard goods, etc., in partnership with Notre Dame
- Present comprehensive product offerings and design ethos
- Educate equipment managers, coaches, staff and student athletes about UA products
- Forecast product needs and desires with cross functional counterparts within product organization
- Filter feedback and other necessary information to internal cross functional teammates
- In conjunction with Notre Dame, manage contractual product allotment and optimize use of allotment dollars to outfit teams and athletes in pinnacle gear
- Partner with Senior Lead on product operations efforts as it pertains to Notre Dame
- Partner with Senior Lead on product marketing efforts as it pertains to Notre Dame, including specialty games, Coach’s Collections and assortments around “moments that matter” within collegiate sports calendar (ie, Bowl games, playoffs, championship appearances)
- Build relationships with other members of university administration and involve Under Armour’s Director of Sports Marketing and other fellow collegiate partnership teammates on strategy, licensing/retail, partnership marketing and other activation discussions
- Attend games, campus events and industry events as needed
