General Maintenance Technician

The successful candidate will have outstanding skills and will be committed to working with others to deliver best in class, unparalleled excellence in customer service and satisfaction.
Responsible for daily support activities, including:
- Perform a variety of repairs and tasks including but not limited to replacing floor tiles, carpet, ceiling tiles, light bulbs, plumbing, painting, patching, and drywall repairs.
- Perform minor inspections of general building conditions under the direction of a supervisor or a skilled trades’ person.
- Directly assist trades personnel as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment, pressure washing, sheet metal work, and restroom tile repairs.
- Operate various tools and equipment to perform woodwork, furniture repairs, and flooring replacement/repairs.
- Efficient and safe use of hand tools.
- Respond and provide service and feedback to the customer on work orders while assuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Clean worksites, including hauling debris and trash to the dumpster, cleaning tools and equipment, and ensuring tools, materials, and equipment are stored properly.
- Inspect and identify facilities equipment in need of repair.
- Perform miscellaneous repairs, maintenance construction, general installation, and preventative maintenance work under the direction of Supervisor or skilled trades’ person.
- Make regular inspection rounds of buildings, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, and major equipment.
- Checks for appearance and cleanliness, structural cracks, excessive wear, and faulty parts.
- Understand company policies and enforce safety regulations.
- Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and utilize PPE as required.
- Comply with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- All work to be scheduled and completed from a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Other duties as assigned by management
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
3 years’ maintenance experience in one of the following trades or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience: General Construction, Painting, General Maintenance
Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
Ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen. Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Some physical/special requirements include:
Regularly lift to 50 lbs
Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding
Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement
Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift
Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions
Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.
Preferred Requirements
Technical degree preferred.
Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment such as hospitals, biomedical or pharmaceutical campuses
Ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams.
Experience working with heavy industrial or manufacturing plant steam systems, centrifugal chillers, air handling units, turbines, boilers, cooling towers, air compressors, air dryers, heat exchangers, exhaust systems, pneumatic controls, and building automation control s
