This Senior Linux OS Engineer will be responsible for building servers on the Engineering team. This role will also push out new images, new patches for satellites, work with Security on risk remediation, incident response, service catalog work, investigate and troubleshoot tech issues. Be able to communicate with business partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performs problem tracking, diagnosis and root-cause analysis, replication, troubleshooting, and resolution for highly complex issues.
2. In this capacity, oversees others who perform programming and debugging activities.
3. Responds to issues in a timely manner by receiving and investigating incidents or service tickets.
4. Provides technical consultation on extremely challenging or unusual situations.
5. May lead large, complex projects related to improving processes or support capabilities.
6. May engage and mange external vendors.
7. Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices.
8. Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
9. Mentors less experienced teammates to build technical expertise.
10. May have people management responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and eight years of experience in development or production support or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
2. Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge.

• Linux Operating system functionality and in-depth knowledge of RHEL7,8,9

• Linux Networking and storage Fundamentals

• Experience with Hypervisor 

• Experience with Linux command line tools and scripting languages (bash/python/perl)

• Automation skills (Ansible)

• Troubleshooting migration issues related disk formats, virtual hardware

• Understanding of code review and familiarity with tools like GitHub and Gitlab

• VMware and Nutanix

• Experience with VMware virtual infrastructure administration and migration

• Understanding of virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere, vCenter and storage

• VMware vMotion,vRealize 

• Nutanix, AHV, Nutanix Move and Commvault Tools
