We have vacancies for Police Community Support Officers across all areas of Lancashire.

The posts are full time permanent although part time and flexible working arrangements will be considered following completion of training.

Lancashire Constabulary is committed to local community Neighbourhood Policing and the Police Community Support Officer is at the heart of this commitment. Police Community Support Officers are part of their local Neighbourhood Policing team, working with partners and the community to reduce crime, the fear of crime and preventing vulnerability.

The role is a uniformed one and comes with designated powers, but most importantly Police Community Support Officers are expected to engage with their communities, problem solve in their communities and target the biggest local problems. They also to respond to calls for service within communities, often they are the local face of policing on their patch.

PCSOs provide a visible, accessible, and approachable presence in communities. They are engagement specialists. The role of a PCSO in engaging with the public and providing a two-way flow of information which is crucial within the community engagement that builds trust and develops a sophisticated understanding of community needs.

We believe it is really important for our police force to be part of the community and reflect the wonderfully diverse communities we have in Lancashire therefore we really welcome applications from those communities who are underrepresented within the force.
