The Work You Will Do:
As a curriculum designer you will primarily serve as a designer for online and in-person, instructor-led, and blended learning projects using instructional design principles. The incumbent will be expected to use learning software such as Articulate 360 and PowerPoint to include interactive elements such as audio, video, quizzes, and scenarios in training material while also maintaining appropriate instructional materials for instructors and learners. This position uses design and project management principles to enhance the content of courses and will work to further enhance the success of the division’s procurement, contract management, and contract negotiation courses.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
The Research and Training Specialist serves as a curriculum developer in the Bureau of Governance and Professional Development within the Division of State Purchasing. This position serves primarily as a designer for online, instructor-led, and blended learning projects, using instructional design principles. The incumbent will be expected to use learning software such as Articulate 360 and PowerPoint, to include interactive elements such as audio, video, quizzes, and scenarios. This position uses images and design principles to enhance the content of courses. Research & Training Specialists are responsible for maintaining current knowledge in the field of instructional design, as well as consulting with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other principals or customers. In addition, this position’s responsibilities include maintaining curriculum updates, review and analysis of course evaluations and assessments, using a variety of instructional technologies for courses and projects, tracking legislation, and projecting/managing timelines.
