The SVP of Asset Allocation plays a key role developing portfolio strategy alongside Global Atlantic’s Investment Leadership through involvement in the creation of strategic asset allocation, new business pricing, and relative value analysis spanning the complete fixed income universe. In this role, you will oversee the Asset Allocation team’s ongoing management of the existing general account as well as the deployment of new premium each year. Through close partnership with GA Investment Office leadership and portfolio management teams, this role provides a unique opportunity to make regular, impactful contributions to the future growth of the organization.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Monitor macroeconomic, financial, and credit market trends to support strategic view formation and portfolio positioning
• Develop asset allocation and deployment plans working with Global Atlantic Investment Leadership and Portfolio Managers
• Lead initiatives for in-force income enhancement and report on relevant metrics around risk, capital, etc.
• Collaborate with analytics team to develop relative value screens and set of dashboard materials to be used by Investment Leadership
• Remains abreast of industry trends, regulatory matters, and market events impacting investment strategies, managers, and the industry
• Build strong relationship with traders and form views around tactical repositioning  
• Lead and develop talent within the Asset Allocation team and help ensure skills and staffing within the team align with the Investment Team and Company’s priorities
• Oversee day-to-day execution of the portfolio and develop strategies to improve cash management capabilities
• Report on performance, strategy updates and views to external constituents (third-party investors, reinsurance counterparties, etc.)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in cross sector fixed income strategy or portfolio management
• Significant experience in portfolio management and risk management
• Energetic, inquisitive and a high initiative to take on projects that cover new ground for the team and the company
• Strong leadership and team orientation; organized and high attention to detail
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. The annual base salary range provided in this posting for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country.  Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.  The base salary range for this role is $259,000 to $330,000.
