About the Team

Core Infrastructure builds and operates reliable, scalable, and repeatable infrastructure for DoorDash developers to ship great products quickly, reliably and efficiently. This also includes the responsibility of managing our relationship with our cloud providers and vendors, as well as being financially responsible with our engineering cloud and vendor expenditures.

About the Role

Your responsibilities include:

• Working closely with infrastructure, performance and product teams to understand cloud usage patterns and identify areas for cost optimization.
• Working together with our Cloud Infrastructure team to build out tooling and systems for cost management.
• Developing and implementing Cloud FinOps policies, processes, training, and guidelines to ensure financial discipline at scale.
• Developing cost models for new initiatives, influencing architectural decisions and providing input to business cases.
• Owning and evolving our reservations and commitment strategy.
• Serving as the engineering representative to plan, onboard and maintain vendor relationships.
• You will report to the Director of Core Infrastructure following a flexible working policy within the SF/Bay Area.

• You have 5+ years of experience working in the Cloud Financial Management space
• You can share cost data in a meaningful and concise manner.
• You have successfully built showback/chargeback models for engineering teams.
• You have data analysis skills including SQL and building cost forecast models.
• You have knowledge of the procurement and finance processes for vendor onboarding and management.
