Summary or Scope:

Our Ink Manufacturing Quality Control (QC) team tests and inspects highly customized pigment and ink products for the electrophoretic display industry.  The primary role of the QC Visual Inspector is to perform visual inspection of Front Plane Laminate (FPL) materials. This inspection provides the visual quality checkpoint for final product release of FPL.

The QC Visual Inspector will work in a clean room environment following established gowning requirements and procedures. The candidate will work closely with the FPL Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to achieve success. This position reports to the Ink Manufacturing QC Supervisor.

 

 

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Operate electronic equipment and control boxes required for inspection switching.
  • Visually inspect FPL sheets and parts for physical and switching defects, compared to the approved visual standards.
  • Determine the type and size of observed defects using a 10x eye-loupe.
  • Record defects and observations in the designated database template.
  • Must follow SOP’s, control plans, specifications, and safety guidelines.
  • Work with engineering and supervision to identify and communicate new observations/anomalies.

Required skills, knowledge and abilities: 

  • An Associate’s Degree in Science is preferred.
  • A GED or High School Diploma with 3+ year’s laboratory experience in a manufacturing environment can be substituted for an Associate’s Degree.
  • 1-3 years of QC visual inspection experience is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and the visual aptitude to detect subtle defects.
  • Strong communication skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization across multiple departments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment
  • Able to contribute and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment is a must.
  • Knowledge of computer software (MS Office and Windows)
