H&E Rentals has an immediate opening for a Field Mechanic. An H&E Rental Field Mechanic travels to customer job sites for the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on different forms of aerial and earthmoving heavy equipment. At H&E Rentals, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and value to our customers through expert maintenance and repair of aerial and earthmoving heavy equipment.

Field Mechanic Responsibilities: 

• On-Site Maintenance and Repairs: Travel to customer job sites to perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct repairs on heavy equipment. 

• Mechanical Expertise: Diagnose and repair mechanical problems, including but not limited to engines, transmissions, and other essential components of heavy machinery. 

• Electrical and Hydraulic Systems: Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, ensuring the proper functioning of equipment. 

• Diesel Systems: Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, addressing issues related to fuel systems, exhaust, and emissions. 

• Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance procedures to extend the lifespan of equipment and prevent breakdowns. 

• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and those around you. 

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, including parts used and work performed. 

 

Field Mechanic Preferred Qualifications: 

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. 

• Experience: A minimum of three (3) to seven (7) years of relevant experience is necessary. 

• Driving Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant driving experience is required. 

• Technical Skills: Hard down/major repair skills are a necessity. 

• Training: Factory, vocational, or mechanical training is a plus. 

• Equipment Experience: A history of working with different forms of heavy equipment, specifically excavators, forklifts, compactors, and other types of aerial and earthmoving equipment.
