Position Summary:

Global Atlantic is seeking a candidate to support the investment accounting and reporting for our growing portfolio of investments in renewable energy, which entails preparing the monthly reconciliations to validate the accuracy of the investment results, prepare management reporting, and required regulatory reporting. This position will also support process enhancements related to achieving an accelerated close that produces timely, accurate, and complete investment accounting results in an efficient manner on a GAAP and STAT basis. In addition to possessing the specific qualifications cited below, all candidates must work well within a complex, fast-paced, fluid environment and have strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for performing monthly investment reconciliations between the ledger and solar project level financials and preparation of month-end journal entries for investments in renewable energy
  • Responsible for preparation of quarterly financial results analytics for investments in renewable energy.
  • Perform consolidation processes to eliminate intercompany transactions in our financial statements resulting from our investments in renewable energy.
  • Prepare quarterly investment disclosures related to investments in renewable energy for Global Atlantic’s 10Q/K.
  • Review and confirm consolidated financial statements, business activity reports, or reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Perform control functions in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 and NAIC Model Audit Rule.
  • Perform frequent ad hoc analysis and assist with special projects, as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Public Accounting experience is a plus.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.  
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting, US GAAP for and project financing for investments in renewable energy, familiarity with financial statements and processes including balance sheet presentation and P&L reconciliation and reporting
  • Understanding of lifecycle and relationship to accounting events for investments in renewable energy
  • Knowledge/experience in US GAAP and Statutory accounting for investments
  • Familiarity with consolidations, eliminations and intercompany accounting of SPV structures
  • Experience with accounting systems and related processes (PeopleSoft, Clearwater, Blackline) knowledge is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel;
  • Pro-active, detail-oriented, deadline-driven; possess excellent documentation and analysis skills.
  • Well organized with the ability to prioritize with a hands-on approach, schedule and manage tasks effectively, conflict resolution, problem-solving, risk management.

The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office.
