About the role:
Boston Scientific is seeking a Senior Software Verification Manager to lead a dynamic team responsible for developing and verifying innovative software solutions that support our next-generation pacemakers and defibrillators. This role blends technical leadership, people development, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, and compliant software that aligns with Boston Scientific’s standards of excellence.

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
This role follows an onsite work model. Employees are expected to work from our Arden Hills, MN office at least four days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers through coaching, career development, and performance management
- Drive timely delivery of complex software verification projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality requirements
- Collaborate with product management, systems engineering, and quality teams to define software requirements, architecture, and validation strategies
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team
- Contribute to software test planning, design, and code reviews while promoting best practices in test patterns, automation, and documentation
- Manage team capacity, project prioritization, and agile delivery processes including Scrum and Kanban
- Support recruiting efforts and onboarding of new engineering talent
- Communicate progress, technical risks, and mitigation plans effectively to senior leadership

Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in software development or verification
- Minimum of 4 years' experience managing software engineers and leading technical project teams
- Strong understanding of Lean/Agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, retrospectives, and backlog management
- Experience with test automation frameworks and requirement verification processes
- Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams including systems engineering and quality assurance
- Deep understanding of design controls, particularly around requirements, design, verification, and traceability
- Hands-on programming experience in Java, Android, or Python
- Strong documentation skills including reports, change requests, and technical memos
- Proficiency in using version control systems (e.g., Git)
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience developing regulated, safety-critical software (preferably medical devices)
- Experience working with global or distributed R&D teams
- Background in managing competing project priorities and resources
- Demonstrated success leading change management initiatives
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to discuss technical concepts at all organizational levels
- Experience in capital medical systems with hardware/software integration
