Job Overview

We are looking for a singular Lead Product Marketing Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be focused on solving one of the most difficult riddles in PMM: How do you create the right positioning and messaging to effectively market an everything app? You will have direct access to senior leadership and work closely with cross-functional teams to help the entire organization tell the right story.

Key Responsibilities

  • Positioning & Messaging: Identify key points of differentiation from alternative products, as well as supporting information (use cases, value props, etc)and create new (or update existing) messaging across a variety of surfaces (web pages, in-product, email, and more).
  • Create use-case stories: End-to-end explanations to help users understand how all the elements of ClickUp come together to make their lives better.
  • Set up Audience segmentation: For launches and releases, understand clusters of recipients and how to put them in the appropriate buckets for announcement communications.
  • Cross-functional coordination: Work closely with Brand & Creative, Product Management & Design, Growth, Lifecycle, Integrated Campaign, Data & Analytics, Research, CX, and other teams.

Key Abilities

  • Communication: People compliment you on your writing skills. You naturally write in a conversational, human voice—you don't sound like a corporation. Or an AI Chatbot. You make the complex feel simple. You know when (and how) to be concise. You know when to elaborate and how to persuade. You instinctively communicate with stories.
  • Compassion: Your approach to marketing is user-centric. You understand that different people in different roles need different messaging and different delivery channels. Your teammates and cross-functional partner would be sad if they didn't get to work with you anymore.
  • Competence: You understand Product-Led Growth (PLG). You care about how products work. You are notably high agency, take initiative, and have a bias for action. You can work autonomously. You like rapid experimentation and testing things out. You take pride in your attention to detail. You're always prepared to back your decisions with data and align your goals around metrics that ladder up to business impact.
  • Perspective: You know that great writing, content, positioning, and messaging all come from taking a stance. You take a 'strong opinions, loosely held' approach. You have varied experience, so you can see things from different angles. You think through things deeply.
  • Passion: You freakin' love being a marketer/PMM. You authentically enjoy the craft, and probably spend some of your free time developing skills and consuming content that makes you better at your job. You're a lifetime learner, always investing in yourself.
  • Persistence: You are extremely flexible and resilient in new and ever-evolving situations. You like change. You have a growth mentality.

Preferred:

  • Experience at a PLG SaaS company (or experience in B2B and B2C)
  • Experience working closely with C-suite execs & senior leadership
  • Experience as a freelancer, independent contractor, early-stage startup employee (or founder!)
  • Experience in other marketing functions, besides PMM
  • Experience as a content creator and audience builder
  • Deep understanding of product fundamentals

This role will NOT be focused on the following:

  • Sales enablement or a Sales-led Motion (You'll be working more closely with Product and other Marketing teams)
  • Enterprise audiences (You'll be more focused on SMB and Mid-Market)
  • Conducting market research (But you'll work with that team)
  • Traditional B2B or "
