Finance Director
THE POSITION:
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Finance Director is a member of the organization’s executive team and the lead financial position in the organization. This position is responsible for all financial activity, including but not limited to: tracking cash flow, financial planning, analyzing the company's financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing strategic direction.
The Finance Director is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, guiding its financial strategy, planning, and maintaining its fiscal stability to include collaboration with the executive management team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Manage the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and auditing. Ensure that the financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization's short and long-term business objectives and are conducted in accordance with regulations, accounting principles, and standards.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the financial strategy of the organization. This includes long-term financial planning and forecasting, risk management, identifying areas for cost optimization, and investment strategies.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements. Ensure the timely reporting of key financial data and updates to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.
- Compliance: Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions. This includes tax planning and compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Leadership: Direct the finance and accounting team and ensure their ongoing professional development and training. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required
- Experience:
- Eight to ten years of experience in financial management is required
- 2 years supervisory experience
- 2 years experience leading and completing cross-functional projects
- Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
- High-energy, self-starter with a passion for NWACS mission is essential
- Exemplify NWACS values and uphold high professional and ethical standards
- Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail; ability to work in a high-paced environment and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Establish effective professional relationships with peers
