The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
Handle a variety of non-routine and difficult inquiries. Direct leadership responsibility for subordinates with clearly defined roles. Reviews and approves work results conducted by subordinates. Performs complex research and analysis in support of human resources projects. Manages professional and support level employees within specific disciplines within Human Resources

As an HR Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

• Serve as an expert consultant on HR issues.
• Act as an employee advocate and change agent.
• Evaluates and anticipates HR-related needs.
• Collaborate with the entire HR functions to provide value-added services to managers and employees.
• Act as key focal point for employees and managers at the Decatur Site on all HR matters - providing expert strategic and operational HR advice, guidance and coaching 
• Advise and coach managers/leaders with client groups and work with them to deal effectively with employee relations issues

Your Skills and Expertise 
 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
• Six to Nine (6-9) years of relevant experience in HR Business Partner or Employee Relations experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master's degree from an accredited institution
• Leadership and supervisory skills necessary for managing people such as knowledge of employment law, knowledge of corporate/location policies and procedures, effective communications, performance management, hiring and interviewing, documentation, interpersonal skills, coaching skills, change management, conflict resolution, delegation, goal setting, motivation, emotional intelligence, strategic planning. Proficient in using corporate/local systems, HR systems, sourcing payment systems, etc
• Strong competence in the various HR functional areas including talent management, coaching and employee relations

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
