The Epic Application Analyst Level 3 will be responsible for implementation, maintenance, and support of clinical applications used within the healthcare organization. This role will work closely with clinical end-users, IT staff, and vendors to ensure the clinical applications are optimized for usability and efficiency and meet the needs of clinicians and patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the team of clinical application analysts in the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of clinical applications, including electronic health records (EHR), clinical decision support systems, and other clinical software.
  • Collaborate with clinical end-users, IT staff, and vendors to identify opportunities for improving clinical workflows and processes using technology.
  • Leads system testing and validation to ensure the clinical applications meet regulatory requirements and user needs.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues with clinical applications, and provide timely resolution to minimize impact on patient care and clinician productivity.
  • Maintains awareness of upcoming development, offerings, and solutions in the EHR System or other clinical application.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures. Ensure documentation is accessible to support staff and end-users.
  • Works collaboratively with operational and medical staff leaders to implement and align strategic initiatives.
  • Participates in all phases of the system development life cycle including development of use cases and evaluation of software solutions.
  • Leads and facilitates the facility’s core clinical and business systems team on IT activities. 
  • Prioritizes based on understanding strategies, budget, epic, requirements, goals, and the value that project and tasks provide the business.
  • Facilitation and mentor of other team members.
  • Organizes and provides project management functions for small and medium project initiatives.
  • Mentor other team member in round in collaboration with clinical and business end users.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience, or Associate’s with 5 years of experience, or 7 years of healthcare or IT experience.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare workflows and terminology.
  • Epic Certification is required (certifications may include: EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, Radiant, Cupid, Optime, Anesthesia, Grand Central or other relevant Epic Apps).
  • Occasional travel maybe required.
  • Previous experience using verbal and written communication to a variety of audiences through a range of modalities.
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows and processes, and experience in implementing and supporting clinical software applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to clinical staff members and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management and change management in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of IT solutions and interfacing preferred.
