The Maternity Center at Union Hospital is designed for the needs of mothers and their babies in a warm, family-centered environment. From prenatal education to the time the new family goes home, the staff of the Maternity Center is committed to making childbirth a rewarding experience. As an RN on this team, you will work with patients when they are most vulnerable, scared and excited. It will be your goal to ensure that the patient and baby are safe. You will learn well-rounded skills by working in various areas of the unit such as Labor & Delivery, scrubbing in c-sections, triage, post-partum and nursery. A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days and hours from 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 7:00PM – 7:30AM, including rotating weekends and holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN
