Job Description

Be an empowered part of an initial team being built with strong backing from company leaders chartered to build innovative applications leveraging modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. As Senior Front-End Software Engineer you will be a senior contributor responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Front- End software solutions and products related to Olympus’ digital platform in surgical and endoscopy areas. This job involves working with Olympus technical staff and external consultants to become system expert to handle and find solutions to complex development and integration tasks. You will also be expected to understand long-term product goals and work within team to promote them. The Olympus Digital Unit team is building new internal applications to help patients and hospitals!

Job Duties
- Develop front-end applications using TypeScript and React which integrate to back-end RESTful APIs .
- Build responsive, user-centric interfaces to optimize a user’s experience.
- Provide guidance to the delivery team to ensure initiatives are well-defined.
- Mentor and teach junior engineers while also learning from them.
- Provide support to address problems during development and after product release.
- Define and write unit tests to resolve and prevent issues prior to system verification.
- Interface with standardized medical communication interfaces such as HL7/FHIR and DICOM.
- Assist with Continuous Integration and Delivery pipeline development and maintenance.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- College degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years Software Engineering experience is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience building responsive, user-centric web apps required.
- Background in Agile Development methodologies.
- Experience using Typescript & React.
- Backend skills using C# and .Net.
- Experience interfacing with relational databases and relational database design.
- Integration with WebSockets.
- Familiarity with Front-End design tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Cloud including DevOps areas of pipelines for CICD.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes Improvements and Upgrades.
Preferred:
- Maintain clear plan for future improvements to Platform.
- Monitor performance of the software and tune or make improvements for enhanced usability.
- Recommend upgrades for existing systems and programs.
- Provide insight into development and service issues by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing necessary information.
- Experience within Healthcare industry is highly desired including knowledge of standards like HL7, FHIR, DICOM and medical ontologies(e.g. SNOMED, MST etc…).
