Join UChicago Medicine as a Lead Data Coordinator in the Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program.

 

As a Center for International Bone Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) Lead Data Coordinator, your role will be to supervise the CIBMTR Data Coordinators. In addition to submitting data to CIBMTR, this position has several critical functions in ensuring that the Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT) Program maintains its insurance center of excellence networks, outcomes ranking, FACT accreditation, and other federal regulatory requirements related to reporting data for stem cell transplant and cellular therapy patients in both adult and pediatric hospitals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Participates in the recruitment and selection of staff. Identifies recruitment needs and necessary staffing levels
  • Maintains daily oversight of data management staff, including appropriate distribution of workload and training of new data coordinators
  • Evaluates staff performance on a formal and informal basis
  • Completes annual performance evaluations and forwards to appropriate individuals.
  • Provides recommendations for merit increases
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Transplant Main Database. Includes working with the IT Department in maintaining or implementing changes or upgrades to the database applications utilized by the TCT Program
  • Ensures that monthly volume infusions are appropriately captured in REDCap
  • Develops procedures to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data submissions. This includes performing systematic internal audits
  • Actively communicates with program administration and quality team regarding any data concerns and reports progress toward quarterly data goals
  • Monitors the CPI report to ensure that the TCT Program maintains at least 90% completion rate per trimester as required by CIBMTR. Assists with FACT audits as needed.
  • Employee will assist the Quality team and program administration with special projects as needed
  • This position will have 3 direct reports (CIBMTR Data Coordinators)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field
  • Minimum 2 years related healthcare or data coordination experience with previous database project management experience
  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in roles relating to data management preferred.
  • Previous coursework or professional experience in information systems technology highly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical practices and terminology, especially hematology-oncology terminology, strongly preferred
