The positions on this contract are located both CONUS and OCONUS in support of the Army Sustainment Command (ASC).

 

As a Senior Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our Global Logistics and Support Services III (GLASS III) contract with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC) in Rock Island, Illinois.

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Perform independent in-depth research and analysis of current and emerging policy, regulations, directives, or industrial issues.
  • Assist with the management of day-to-day operations, synchronization, and coordination for the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP) and provide recommendations and information on operational issues.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and thorough LOGCAP contract requirements packages (technical data packages, exhibits, diagrams, etc), screen requirements for completeness and accuracy, and suitability.
  • Review, prepare analyzes, coordinate and develop draft staff actions and requests for information; prepares or reviews briefings and memos in accordance with Army regulations (i.e., AR 25-50); and collaborates with the Branch Chief.
  • Make recommendations of new or updated policy and procedures for the program.
  • Independently prepares Operations/Readiness Common Operating Picture (COP) and information papers. COPs may be recurring or ad hoc.
  • Update and maintain operations files in SharePoint in an organized, professional, an accurate manner.
  • Facilitate teleconferences and attend meetings. Operations specialist will, in coordination with appropriate stakeholders and Branch Chief, establish dial in, calendar event, take meeting minutes, publish/distro as needed, take role call or other admin functions needed to properly facilitate meetings, MS Teams calls, etc.
  • Track contract milestones and schedules.
  • Track performance metrics, participate in all required meetings and teleconferences, review performance contractor deliverables, maintain updated status of non- conformance issues impacting mission capabilities, and researching and responding to inquiries.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct a study of the efforts of logistics support at various command levels. Projects typically involve the identification and new development of potentially new strategies and functions for subordinate organizations.
  • Work with other specialists/analysts to develop new methodologies/strategies and makes recommendations to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Program’s operations through changes in work methods, organizational structures, or management processes.
  • Select and apply appropriate evaluation techniques in determining the extent of compliance with rules and regulations issued by the Command.
  • Conduct management studies and projects related to reorganization proposals, realignment actions, and special organizational analyses.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • One of the following:
    • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 12 years of experience planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing logistics and acquisition activities.
    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing logistics and acquisition activities.
  • An Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in operations at the Brigade level or above.
  • Thorough knowledge of National, Operational, and Tactical Level Logistics; as well as Peacetime, Contingency, and Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) operations; Fragmentary and Deployment Orders; and Homeland Defense and Security.
  • A full understanding of concepts, strategies, practices, and planning guidance that affect the mission of the Army Sustainment Command.
  • Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and an understanding of regulatory programs.
  • Skill in preparing projects, information papers, staff reports, and skill in organizing and presenting reports and briefings to managers.
  • Knowledge management and organizational principles and practices along with knowledge of military command structure, missions, programs and organizational relationships.
